The Times published an article by Neil Fisher on 16 July 2020, giving details of the first new opera to be commissioned and performed in a theatre since the lockdown in March. The opera “A Feast in the Time of Plague” has a libretto by Sir David Pountney and music by Alex Woolf. It features a number of British singers including Simon Keenlyside, who will sing the role of Antoine, “a biker playboy”.
